Cant plough in Contract: Lord of the forest

I accepter the quest a lont time ago and while exploring i stumbled upon some blood marks in thw wood next to novigrad and i examined them. i realized that i did non want to complete this quest still and so i moved on. I am at present at the right level to practice this quest, and i noticed i have an X adjacent to "Talk to Brean Hotsch". I rememebred where he was and i could not interact with him, so i went on to go along the quest and killed the monster. Now im on "Collect youor reward from Brean Hotsch" and when i speak to him, i accept three options "ill tend to information technology" "Gotta pay my price" or "Good day". If i choose ill tedn to it, he tells me to speak to the lumber jack just he is not where he is suppose to be. So i cant turn this contract in? I accept a lot of hours betwixt investigating the blood and at present so i dont want to have to start over the game in order to get the achievement of completing all contracts.

Yeah, you kind of botched that contract. It's often difficult to go along corectly with a contract once you lot've started or stumbled upon it on your ain.
